Aunt Margaret's Birthday Bash

Last weekend we celebrated my Aunt Maraget's birthday at her house with a fish fry and small gathering. While the men were out cooking the fish and fries, Evan found a Barbie kiddie jeep that he just HAD to drive. It took him a little while to get the coordination down to step on the gas, turn the wheel, and watch where he was going, but he finally got it down. It was such a hoot to watch him drive around (although dad had to stick around pretty closely to prevent accidents)! :)

Larry and Margaret bought a wii after visiting us in MN and playing on ours...so while we were there, we brought it out. Great Grandpa used to bowl back in the day, so we thought he would really enjoy being able to "bowl" again, this time just without the heavy ball. So Jon taught him how to play! It was a blast! Great Grandpa, my dad, Aunt Margaret, and Margaret's granddaughter Lexi all played. It was quite the game! After the bowling madness was over, the girls (granddaughters) decided to box...I'm sure you can imagine how funny it was to watch that!

All the while, Evan and Isaac (Margaret's grandson who is 5 wks younger than Evan) got to play together in a tent and with some blocks. They really had fun together, even if Evan's face doesn't show it in the pictures. It took him a little while to get used to the concept of crawling in the tent (he doesn't really like dark, small spaces) and playing and sharing toys with someone else (something he just doesn't have to do with other little kids since we have none yet!). But he eventually got the hang of it, and he's really looking forward to another playdate with Isaac this week! :)
