Train Table Tale

Evan got a train table for his first Christmas from his Grandma and Grandpa Palmer. When we lived in Minnesota, he was too little to play with the small pieces of the train. So it got used as a toy table. Evan loves trains. We were SO excited to be able to set up his train table in his bedroom at our new house.

My sister Megan came over to help set it up. I couldn't find the instructions. We tried about three or four different compositions. But we always ended up with extra pieces. I looked online, but couldn't find the exact set that we have. The hardest part was figuring out which way the looped road went together since the curved pieces have track on both sides. It took us about 3 hours. But it still wasn't coming together. Frustrated, we left it together in the wrong way.

Jon came home from work later that day. He looked online and immediately found the correct model and had the train set up in less than 15 minutes.(Figures, right?!) But at least Evan was able to play. He had SO much fun!...until Haven arrived on the scene. You see, Haven has a new trick: being able to stand up while holding on to something. Haven has a new name: Godzilla. Evan doesn't like Haven anywhere near his train. She can wreck it faster than we can re-assemble it. But it is so much fun to watch! PS The day after we set up the train table, I unpacked the box with the directions, which are now taped to the bottom of the drawer. :)
